Psychologist Cynthia Hickman provides holistic counselling in Melbourne. Appointments are available in person or via Skype.
When I was growing up, as soon as I found out that that there was a field of work called psychology I knew that this was the vocation for me. I have spent my life deepening my training and experience in this field and now offer holistic counselling in Melbourne.
I have always felt that it was important to tend to the inner life of the human being. We can adjust the external aspects of our lives all we like but if our inner being is not nurtured then we will always feel unrest to some degree. And this then affects the quality of life of a community – if we do not connect deeply within then we are all diminished and will therefore experience symptoms at a societal level.
Therefore the focus of my work is to bring individuals and groups back into connection with their inner nature so that they can then contribute to the wellbeing of their community.
I completed a Masters degree in counselling psychology but also studied a huge variety of complementary methodologies and approaches so that I could bring the best to my clients. This study comes together in my work as a holistic counsellor in Melbourne.
I also have a breadth of experience, having worked with individuals, couples and groups in both community settings and private practise. I work now as a therapist, supervisor, small group facilitator and presenter to larger groups.
